Hi, my name is CHANEL - ID#A4416494. I am a spayed female, white and gray American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old, and I have been at the shelter since May 08, 2020. Chanel can seem a bit shy at first, but give her a few moments to warm up and she's all smiles and sunshine! This sweet little mama dog is only about four years old, and is looking for a forever home where she can live her best life and catch up on all the love she's been missing. Here are the only notes we have on Chanel: 5/8/2020 INTAKE ASSESSMENT K9 allowed vaccines with light restraint. K9 had tail tucked and moved away from staff. K9 did not walk on leash and was bucketed to kennel. 5/9/2020 EVALUATION Handler attempted bucket, dog would not enter bucket/thrashed; walked cautiously with coaxing then stopped; handler carried, then dog walked entering catch pen, stop/go; timid, tail tucked initially when greeted by other dogs, coexisted, explored yard; walked more consistently on leash back to kennel, but started thrashing in the building. 5/11/2020 ENRICHMENT Timid, low tail wag in kennel; came forward with coaxing and allowed petting, then retreated when handler presented leash; coaxed forward and used petting as lure for leash placement; stop/go to yard; explored yard with dragging leash - froze when she stepped on it; timid but affiliative with handler; leaned into petting; startled easily; needed coaxing to re-enter wing on return; allowed petting and leash removal.
