About Zade (west)

Hi, my name is ZADE - ID#A4381212. I am a neutered male, red Chow Chow mix. The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Feb 16, 2020. Zade is a pup who has taken some time to warm up to new people. He spends his time in part, in the behavior team office where he is working on expanding his social circle. Zade has a whole team of compassionate shelter staff to thank for the strides he has made in becoming forever home ready. Here are the latest notes about Zade: 4/20/2020 OBSERVATION Zade has improved greatly since living in office. Walking on leash well, affiliative with 8+ handlers, and has not pooped in office. Know's sit. Will try to jump on handlers for attention but is able to be lured for four paws on the ground. Likes to explore yard while out. Is slightly nervous with strangers but progresses quickly as he is food motivated. 4/25/2020 OBSERVATION Zade lives in behavior office; greets familiar handlers without issue; allows clip leash placement, walks to yard without issue; affiliative with handler in yard, leans into petting; calm demeanor; explored and kept to self but would check in with handler often and seek attention; follows handler to play yard gate when its time to go back to office; easy return/easy clip leash removal. 4/29/2020 OBSERVATION Lives in office; very affiliative/affectionate with familiar handlers - pushes head into hands, licks, or occasionally jumps up to solicit attention; leans into petting; greets handlers when they walk into office; unsure of tall male staff member but is slowly warming up; squints eyes when excited; occasionally play bows, runs around in yard but is mostly calm and explores; likes spray cheese; has door dashed when handlers leave and has pushed xpen aside to escape office but is easily managed.
