About JD

Meet JD - (3 Available for Adoption Albemarle, NC JD is a 60 lb Catahoula Mix boy who has lived his life tied in the woods. A neighbor would walk past and check on him usually to find him with no water. He would be wrapped around a tree with no signs of food. In speaking with his past owner, he didn't have time for JD anymore. He said JD used to love playing in the lake and chasing tennis balls. Something he hasn't done in a long time. He got JD from a friend who was looking to rehome or give him away. JD had not been to a vet since he's had him. (But we took him and got all of his vaccinations and he is scheduled to be neutered) He is heartworm NEG and on heart worm preventative. Sadly, his favorite toy in the world is white rocks. That's all he played with while on a chain. He has been around other dogs - labs and small dogs and did great. We aren't sure about cats as he hasn't been around any. JD is a very friendly with everyone he has met which have all been adults. He hasn't been around kids yet but we feel he will be fine. He is currently in a kennel in his foster's back yard. So far so good. Her neighbors have a big fenced in yard and lets her take JD over there to run and play. JD will walk on a leash but he is strong. A harness and or martingale collar may help with the pulling. He jumps on people because of excitement but we are working to break him of that.
