Until further notice, to adhere to CDC's recommended sanitation guidelines and to promote social distancing, meet & greets and adoptions are by appointment only. Red is a 2 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix who is looking for a loving forever family. Red came to us with 2 other dogs and they have spent most of their lives living outside under a car port, so they were a bit shy but they have come a long way. Red was lucky enough to find a loving foster mom to took him home to get to know him and help him trust. Red is a very sweet boy as long as you give him time to warm up and come to you. He will be happiest in a home with mature, dog savvy people around who understand him and give him the time he needs. Red has lived with other small dogs, but doesn't seem to depend on another dog. If going with a canine companion, they need to meet before adoption to make sure everyone gets along great. Red is house broken if let out on a schedule and will use potty pads if needed. He has not had access to a dog door because he can be a bit of an escape artist, so he needs to be watched carefully in yards and near doors or gates to ensure his safety. Red is a sweet, loving boy who will make a great addition to his lucky family. He weighs 12 pounds full grown, but could stand to shed a few of those pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, vet checked and microchipped. His adoption fee is $260 and includes 30 days of complementary pet insurance and a free vet visit. To apply for adoption and to meet Red, please submit an application (found on our website azsmalldog.org) to email@example.com.
