About Tug

Adoption Fee: $250
Lab / Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Tug is a 6 year old, 72 pound Black Lab and Staffordshire Terrier mix. Tug is a friendly guy and does well with people of all ages and other dogs. The one critter he is not good with are cats. He is such an easy, well behaved boy. Tug knows his basic commands and is really smart. His foster mom can tell him to go get his Kong and he will go get it and bring it to her. If he is told no he immediately stops what he is doing. Tug likes to go for walks and car rides. At night Tug sleeps in bed next to his foster mom with his head on a pillow right beside her. When his foster mom leaves home Tug is free to roam the house. He doesn't bother anything and can usually be found napping on the couch. Tug's story will Tug at your heartstrings. He was found as a stray in Bethany MO last June. They had no place to house him so he went to the Lamoni, Iowa pound. Tug spent 10 months there waiting for a family. The animal control officer there was in love with him and he was an easy boy so he got to stay around. Tug moved into one of our foster homes in April. When Tug arrived he failed his heartworm test so we started him through heartworm treatment. He is halfway through his treatment following the American Heartworm Society's protocol. He has one vet visit left. On June 1st and 2nd he will go to the vet and receive his last two injections. He will need to remain calm and quiet or 6 weeks and then can return to normal activity. Tug is ready to go into a foster to adopt home and his adoption can be completed when his heartworm treatment is finished. Tug is housetrained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. ' If you would like to meet'Tug, please start the adoption process by completing the adoption application on our'website:'www.furfunrescue.org.'If you'have questions about'Tug you can call 319-929-6657 or email [email protected]. '' Indoor homes only.' Adopters within two'hours'of Cedar Rapids, IA only, please.' Adoption donation $250.'''
