About Luke and Leia

Adoption Fee: $250
Siamese / Domestic Cat
Age: Young Kitten
Sex: Female

Meet Luke and Leia! These two sweet kitten siblings are almost 6 weeks old as at the date of posting (May 10th). Leia is the lynx point girl and Luke is her orange and white oriental shorthair brother. Leia has eyes that look astonished all the time and Luke has huge low set 'modern' siamese ears like Yoda. Luke adores humans and his sister. They have been lovingly hand raised and bottle fed in their foster home and look to people for her affection and connection, except for each other. These kittens are experienced with other cats and with larger cat friendly dogs who are in their foster home with them. They are ready for pre-adoption and should be big enough to go home in a few weeks, once old enough to spay/neuter. Both kittens will come to their new home up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped and combo tested negative. Adoption fee of $250 applies for the pair, representing a donation towards the cost of their veterinary care and food and transport to us. Here is a link to their Facebook post on our page, with their photo album: https://www.facebook.com/153267718679780/posts/531164884223393/?d=n (you may need to copy and paste into your browser if the link is not clickable). These sweet babies are the only surviving members of their litter. We don't know what happened to their mom, just that we were asked by a kind soul in the Rio Grande Valley to sponsor their care and find them good homes. Our wonderful foster Mandy volunteered to raise them till they are old enough for adoption. They are just over half way there. They are available for pre-adoption together. These adorable siblings are being fostered by Mandy in the Rio Grande Valley until they are big enough for vetting. Then they will come to our HQ in New Braunfels, Texas. We are open to an out of state home: please see below. If you are willing to fly or drive to pick up your cat in person, your application has the same priority as a local home. Our closest airports are Austin and San Antonio and we can meet you at the airport for a modest donation towards fuel. Please note that in these difficult times, this is subject to change as our transport partners update us. Usually, our cats can travel with volunteer driver networks to a new home most places in the US for the price of a travel crate/carrier (yours to keep), a few basic supplies and a veterinarian's interstate health certificate. However, the interstate volunteer driver networks are currently suspended due to the coronavirus crisis. Our cats can fly with American Airlines for the cost of a ticket ($125 in a climate controlled cargo area) but they are currently allowing direct flights only. Our nearest airports are Austin or San Antonio. A donation towards fuel helps us keep this going and the foster family will take the cat(s) to either Austin or San Antonio airport to meet the flight. Kitties leave and arrive via the Cargo buildings at the closest airport reducing risk and exposure. Flying your pet cargo will not usually be given preference over a local home, so if you can come meet us at the airport or better still, drive to pick up, that works better! It is safer and less traumatic for the cat. The health certificate usually costs about $100. A kind veterinarian is giving the Interstate Health Certificate for the duration of the coronavirus crisis for a special reduced rate of $25. We don't transport to Florida or California due to the numbers of homeless Siamese already in those states. Please email us at [email protected] to request an application or to ask any questions. Please specify your location (city, state) when first contacting us.
