�٠� Morty asks: 'Will You Be My Family?' Morty was impounded as a stray in July 2019 and no one came to look for him. He is 10 years old, friendly and energetic. And he is best known for his love of belly rubs! There have been many changes in Morty's life the last few months. Although there are some great moments, it's nonetheless chaotic, at least from Morty's perspective. He was adopted then returned days later because the landlord did not approve of his breed. Weeks after, he was fostered by a great foster who did a lot of work with him. Here's what she said: 'Morty is a great dog that is very loyal and very willing to learn. While with him, he understood the protocol of going to the bathroom during walks. Morty has learned sit, down, high five, and he knows to behave when seeing snacks. He waits as well until you tell him it's ok to eat his food. He has learned very fast in under two months.' She also said that Morty is loyal and can be protective, so he needs to be properly introduced to others. Morty belly rubs and cuddling. He is really sensitive and is in tune with people's energy. He should be the only pet in a home. Morty is still a work in progress when it comes to pulling on the leash and mouthiness when he's excited. Unfortunately she had to return him to the shelter a couple of weeks ago. Since returning to the shelter, Morty has had a hard time adjusting and is acting out of stress. He's been nippy with staff and new foster (who returned him within 24 hours). Clearly, Morty is stressed and isn't coping well with the changes. He really needs help. Morty loves human connection and we worry that he is not getting the human interaction and exercise that he needs now that he's back at the shelter. He is 10 years old and needs a loving home.
