About Deacon

Adoption Fee: $325
Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

COMING SOON! Deacon is the sweetest red double merle boy you will ever meet. He is 11 months and still trots around like a puppy. Being a double merle, he is deaf and somewhat vision impaired however this doesn't affect him in the least. He runs and plays at doggie daycare like a normal dog. Deacon does have to wear goggles outside when sunny due to a starburst pupil. He is great with other dogs of all sizes, but he especially loves the little ones. He is a classic velcro Aussie wanting to follow you around the house. He does tend to cry some for the first bit in a kennel but does adjust. He is also not destructive when left out of his kennel alone. He tends to be very curious, but also cautious. When entering new situations he is shy. A little encouragement and a loving pat normally helps him gain confidence. He LOVES people and is willing to meet anyone new but does get a little over excited seeing new dogs when on leash. We are working on hand signals for training, but overall he is a wonderful dog. He is mostly potty trained, holding overnight however he does mark on occasion. He's not much of a puller when walking but he does like to explore! Additionally he does not bark much! He will alert in certain situations, like when he notices someone at the door. Deacon has not been cat tested. Deacon has tested positive for Lymes, while he does not have active symptoms he is being treated and will not be available until finished. While he is waiting to finish his treatment, you can fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
