Juno accidentally knocks down and hurts the young children in the home, and their older dog does not get along with Juno. Her owners are heartbroken and love her very much, but feel it's in her best interest to find a new home. Name: Juno Age: DOB 6/4/2017 Breed: German Shepherd Sex: Female (confirmed spayed) Location: Harris County, TX Vet Info: Juno is confirmed spayed. She is up to date on vaccines and received her one year rabies, distemper and lepto vaccines in April 2019. She was heartworm negative when tested on April 12, 2019. Juno weighs about 45 pounds. Juno's owners tell us she is partially blind from pannus, but otherwise in great health. Owner Info: Juno is a beautiful girl who was diagnosed with pannus when she was only two years old. Juno accidentally knocks down and hurts the young children in the home, and their older dog does not get along with Juno. Her owners are heartbroken and love her very much, but feel it's in her best interest to find a new home. Her owners write, 'She was diagnosed with pannus last year when she was only two years old. It's severe enough that she has trouble seeing and runs full speed into my little kids and has accidentally hurt them on a couple of occasions. She also crashes into trees and injures herself frequently. She is being treated with vet prescribed eyedrops multiple times per day and some days are better than others, but most days she's a danger to my kids (due to no fault of her own, poor thing). To make matters worse, my other dog picks on her ever since she started having vision problems. I feel like she needs a home that is more capable of giving her the treatment that she needs, and especially without little kids underfoot.' Juno is an indoor dog with run of the house. She is housebroken, but not leash trained. She knows the commands, Sit, Lay, and Shake. Juno is good with men, women and older children. She is not possessive of toys, treats, or food. Juno does live with another dog, but the other dog sometimes picks on Juno, and Juno's owners tell us Juno has defended herself a couple of times. They also gave us more details about Juno's only biting incident: 'One time about a year ago when our other dog provoked her, Juno pinned her down and held her by the nape of the neck. It did draw a small amount of blood. That is the only time she's ever had a biting incident.' We asked if Juno's owners know how Juno is with other dogs, and they wrote, 'As for how Juno is with dogs besides (our super grouchy old lady), she is rarely in prolonged contact with other dogs so I'm not positive. When we take her places like the vet's office where she is in close proximity to dogs she doesn't know, she has never been aggressive or had any issues. She can be a little nervous and tends to be submissive.' Juno's owners feel she adapts well to new situations and tell us, 'Yes, for the most part she is a very happy dog and wants to play and socialize. She seems to cope fairly well. But she has trouble navigating and runs into things (and people) pretty often.' This has been a very difficult decision for Juno's owners. 'We really love Juno and it breaks our hearts to try and rehome her. We have been going back and forth about it for about a year, but lately since she keeps accidentally hurting our young kids and our older dog does not get along with her, we know it's in her best interest to find another home.' **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
