About Rosie

Adoption Fee: $250
Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Rosie is a spayed, 2 year old(she will be 3 August 21st) female Pit bull. She was surrendered to my clinic 2 months ago after initially being dumped on the side of the road. Rosie is an amazing dog who, from her level of obedience training, was well loved at some point in her life, and now that she's spayed, current on all vaccines, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm, started on monthly prevention, and we've had some time to figure out her temperament she's ready to find a loving home again. This pretty girl is a small very stocky pit weighing in around 50 pounds, she's the happiest when she is with you. Rosie travels very well, and tends to be more on the couch potato side of life. She would make an excellent dog for someone who drives for a living(such as a trucker), works from home, or is retired. Rosie does suffer from separation anxiety, while she's been with in my home I've seen HUGE improvements, unfortunately I only ever intended to foster her, and in a new home she will likely struggle with anxiety until she feels safe again. She is not a destructive anxiety, she will however cry/howl and escape any crate you put her in. That being said Rosie is completely potty trained, and has been able to freely roam our house while alone with zero issues. Rosie does amazing with cats, she has no interest in cats (or chasing them) and generally ignores them. When it comes to dogs Rosie warms up faster to females, but will get along with males. While she is on the lazier side she's still a young dog and when she's ready to play its a high energy play in which she is always vocalizing(snorting, barking etc.) and not all dogs react well to that, so please keep this in mind if you are already a dog owner. Rosie is a very smart and well trained/easy to train dog, she knows basic commands, and can be walked off leash. I have no doubt that with time and routine she will be the most well behaved dog you've ever had. Rosie was named simply because when you first meet her she's going to be a little shy and her separation anxiety is a bit of a thorn in her side, however, if you are patient and kind you will see her bloom into a dog with such a gentle soul, and so much unconditional love to give. She's looking for a forever home where she won't have to be alone for more then a couple hours at a time, where she can lay all over you and receive unlimited belly rubs, and for a family who has the time and patience to help this sweet girl learn what being in a forever home truly means. **Rosie's adaption fee reflects the cost of the medical care(mentioned above) she's received while I've been fostering her. For more information or if you're interested in adopting Rosie please email me with your vet reference, a description of your home environment, and a phone number that I can contact you at.**
