Here is what you need to know about adopting Glen Dale! -Read all of this info carefully! . -You must fill out an application at www.augustadogadoptions.org to be considered. -Our regular adoption events have been cancelled due to the pandemic but we are setting up individual adoptions! -Breed guesses are only a GUESS! -Glen Dale is a 2-4 year old mixed breed dog who weighs about 55-60 pounds. He came to us from a rural shelter with more dogs than adopters. Glen Dale is house trained, good with other dogs and he loves kids! Glen Dale is an active dog who craves exercise and attention. A fenced yard is REQUIRED to adopt Glen Dale and a home with another dog is PREFERRED. Glen Dale is happiest when someone is home to occupy him! We do not know if Glen Dale has ever lived with a cat or not. We was introduced to one and did not reach. We will not guess as to whether he will be safe around a cat or not. We recommend all adopters with cats do very slow, supervised introductions and have a way to keep them in separate areas until everyone has adjusted. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
