About Sampson

Sampson is on the hunt for the perfect person for him! He's a pretty young kiddo and as such need someone willing to continue the training he has started. He likes to please his humans and is willing to learn! He has mastered sit and stay and does well walking on a leash. He does get excited at times and may pull but a simple correction will get his attention. Sampson likes other dogs in small doses. Sometimes he can get overwhelmed when a lot is happening but again, he's just a young kid who still needs to learn some manners. He needs someone who is willing to keep up with his training and help him be the best dog he can be! Sampson thrives on one on one attention, especially when treats are involved and needs someone who wants to build a strong bond with him. He would do well in a loving home with just one person, or a whole family! (Older kids please, sometimes little kids and him don't understand each other). Sampson also loves baths and will jump right in the tub waiting for a good scrub. Sampson is house trained and respects his people's belongings and won't chew them. He really is a good boy who just wants someone who can be his role model in life and teach him the ways of the world. If you respect him, he will respect you. Sampson needs a home with Rottie experience, no small children and either no dogs or older/calm type since he does not like being around hyper dogs and takes time to get used to them. He will need a home within a few hours of Houston as he will not be put on a long transport. Sampson is not a bad boy or aggressive but he is a typical hard headed boy that wants to have his way. He is only 1 year old and has already been let down so many times. He was picked up as a stray in March and since then has been in 3 different foster homes. The family who is willing to foster Sampson will need to be committed to following SSRR guidelines on the type of training that he needs.
