About Luna

German Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Luna, a 7 year-old energetic and affectionate female German Shepherd. What is special about Luna? Her spunk, her energy, her never give up attitude and she is always ready for a challenge. As you can see from her video, some of Luna's favorite activities include fetching, chasing after footballs, playing with any squeaky toy, and looking pretty. After Luna finishes a long walk or fetching game outside, she is ready to play with more toys inside. Luna is also comfortable just chilling out with her friends. If you give Luna a good scratching behind the ears, you will quickly be her new friend. Luna has some weakness in her right hip, but that doesn't slow her down. She is able to easily walk up and down 14 carpeted stairs at her temporary foster home. Make sure to put on your walking sneakers, because Luna wants to go for long walks. Luna goes on at least two long 30-45 minute walks a day plus play time in a field chasing balls. In addition to two more short walks Luna then gets to goof off at home. Luna recently entered our adoption program and according to Luna's prior vet records, she has dealt with discomfort in her hip area for a while. Most recently, Luna received comprehensive medical care. Luna has responded wonderfully to a regiment of anti-inflammatory medication and supplements. We believe she has early mild Degenerative Myelopathy and some arthritis in her right hip. What type of home would make Luna happy? A home with a fenced in back yard, with a fair amount of carpets and no cats. Luna can co-exist with a laid back dog, but really would flourish in a home with no other dogs. She would do best in a home with older respectable children. Luna is available for adoption or for our foster to adopt program. If you are interested in finding out more about Luna and possibly adopting or fostering her, you can request for more information at [email protected] or fill out an adoption application form.
