About Blue (FKA Dexter, Blue

Location: Columbus Indiana. (Age: 4yr) Blue is very people orientated loves everyone he meets! He absolutely loves to be the center of attention (or else he gets jealous!) and is a very active and energetic boy. His recall skills are extremely good -especially when outside. He does not wander far from you, and he comes every time he is called. He has great listening skills. He has learned in the time that he has been here to get along with our pack, as large as it is, but we feel that he would do better as a only baby. Possibly would do well with a younger person that loves to be outdoors and active, such as biking and hikes! I think Blue would benefit from the exercise. Blue becomes easily excited and can be overstimulated in a large group, we have however had great success in redirecting and again his listening skills in a couple hand signals that we have taught him have worked very well. He is highly intelligent- he can sit, shake, and he knows basic commands. He also knows if he can take advantage of you or not and he will try if given the chance. He seems to prefer men over women, but he is very affectionate with everyone! When he came to us he did not share food or toys or attention very well, he has learned to do so but if not continue training you will fall back into his old habits. I think Blue would be fine around older children, he has a very good sense of a pack order, and that must be firmly enforced from day one with him. **Blue is good with children over 12.** Blue is nervous around busy environments with strangers and so a home without frequent gatherings would be best for him. He is housebroken and crate trained. We have had no issue with him getting into anything in the home that he is not supposed to. Though he does sleep in his kennel at night, I believe that he would be fine sleeping out of his kennel at night in the home with someone. Blue probably would love to be able to snuggle with someone during the night!
