About Henry

Lab / Boxer
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

We picked Henry out as a puppy from a box of his siblings bout 9 years ago in front of our local Walmart. As soon as he was old enough to leave his mother, we took him home. We were told that he is a Black Lab/German Shepard/Boxer mix. He has the pretty tiger brindle coloration. He claims his alpha male role of dominance over our two small dogs, although not overly aggressive to back it up. He tolerates our two young grandchildren (ages 3 and 4,) albeit grudgingly, and is not very patient with young children. He is not recommended to families with children less than 6 or 7 years old. He has been an indoor dog all his life, and is good for protection, with his loud and business-like warning bark to ward off intruders. However, he is also an odd contradiction, in that he is fearful of many things, including brooms, gates, new objects in a hallway, vacuum cleaners, etc. He likes resting on his bed in the living room with the family, and loves attention. He comes with large plastic transport kennel, collar, leash, food bowl, and a large per food keeper with a moderate supply of his dog food. My wife and I are moving today into a senior mobile home park that allows only two dogs, and max weight of 30 lbs. (Henry weighs about 80 lbs.) We care for him, but just can't take him with us; he has to go, hard as that is for us. In short, Henry is a good family dog in urgent need of another good family.
