About Sanibel

Adoption Fee: 200
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Sanibel is available for foster or adoption, she is being fostered in Bradenton, FL. Sanibel is the sweetest little gnome heeler. She came from a high-kill county shelter in Tampa Bay as an owner surrender and had almost no hair when we rescued her. She is a senior and she does have some medical conditions, but being a senior also means she adores being loved on, getting belly rubs, a good roll in the grass and lying in the sun on the back porch. Sanibel has arthritis, she walks slowly and has spondylosis of her spine. She can do steps and roll in the grass and even play briefly with other dogs. She has chronic dry eye and requires eye drops that the vet prescribed for her. Her skin still gets some scabbing and she does get a medicated bath every month or so. Her hair has mostly grown back, and her bad teeth have been removed. She is on supplements for arthritis, and has a special food that will be donated to her for the rest of her life. it has helped her skin immensely. She is housebroken, and will let you know with a bark when she wants to go out. She loves a soft cushy bed to lie in and will bask out in the sun. She is fine with other dogs or without. Has a great appetite. Sanibel does not need long walks, and she really prefers to be with you. She would love a nice quiet place with a yard to roam in, someone that can love her as she is, be patient with her and give her all the comforts of life. She even gives little kisses to the right person!! If anyone 65+ is interested, she is eligible for our Seniors for Seniors program (check out our website ewenityfarmsbch.com/adoption/ for more info on the program).
