About Sweetheart Chato

Hi! My name is Sweetheart Chato and I'm part of the Sweetheart themed transport that arrived at OPH on 2-21-20! I'm guessed to be a Feist mix and I am about 1 year old. I'm a sweet girl, and I currently weigh about 25lbs. I am best suited for a suburban type home this means unfortunately that apartments, condos, and some town homes would not be a good fit for me. Also I like children but would do best with children older than 12 years. I have gotten along with some bigger dogs that I have met but really need a nice slow proper introduction first. That being said, I would be my best self with an experienced and dog savvy owner. And maybe, I am enough dog, full of love and kisses, to be your one and only. My foster Momma says I am crate and house trained and usually walk nicely on leash. She says I sure do love getting attention and affection. I am still a young dog and have a lot of energy so an active family would be ideal for me. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
