About Lexie

We are located 5 hr west of VA Beach. If you don't want to drive here we can deliver or meet half way for the cost of our gas. Lexie is a 2 year old german shepherd mix. She was pulled from a local shelter where she was dumped nearly starved to death. She is predominantly shepherd although on the smaller side. She does not like cats and she has a strong dominant personality with other dogs! She would be be best in a home as an only dog! She is extremely smart and playful. I have taught her a few commands. She loves to play fetch. She has a strong 'ball drive'. She would excel in a home with an active owner who likes to train! She needs a home with a fenced yard or acreage. She does not need a home where she will be cooped up all day. She is a working dog and she needs a job! She is great with people, however she needs to go to a home with no small children. She is great with people of all sizes even children but I don't want to set her up to fail by placing her in a home with a very small child who does not know how to treat dogs! She is an active dog and she might unintentionally knock a toddler down. She will go to her new home spayed, heartworm tested and on prevention, current on vaccines and microchipped. She will receive a certificate of health by a vet prior to coming home. The adopter will get all her health records. We require a prescreen application to adopt.
