Hi, my name is CHARLIE BROWN - ID#A4391448. I am a neutered male, brindle American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 1 month old, and I have been at the shelter since Mar 06, 2020. Charlie Brown was found with a smaller dog - a male 20lb chihuahua. He is frightened to be here, and was scared enough that he put on a tough show in his kennel barking and growling trying to make scary people go away. With just a little patience, time and love Charlie B learned to trust us. He is still a little shy in new surroundings and might be the same way in his new home at first but we think he will definitely open up. Charlie B almost has 'sit' and 'shake' mastered. He settles in the volunteer room and goes to sleep. A dog intro is recommended. He was bucketed to the play yard (because he was too afraid to walk) but then explored the yard; timid & slightly defensive when other dogs who attempted to interact with him. Here are the most recent notes from volunteers who spent time with Charlie: 4/6/2020 OBSERVATION Easy to leash and easy to handle on leash. Came to handler and nuzzled handlers hand; began licking handlers hands. Leaned in when pet; wagging tail. 4/8/2020 ENRICHMENT Spent time in play yard a few times throughout the day. Walking better on leash. 4/11/2020 OBSERVATION Great in the yard, soft body, wagging tail. Orginally, tucked tail, stiff body. Has warmd up every day.
