About Mcready (west)

Hi, my name is MCREADY - ID#A4393321. I am a neutered male, tan and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix, and I weigh about 82 lbs. The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Mar 11, 2020. Mcready is dog friendly with other calm gentle dogs. Here are some notes from volunteers who recently spent time with Mcready: 3/13/2020 EVALUATION Exited the kennel and began to walk; flattened when dogs began reacting in the building and was bucketed to the yard. Nervous entrance; stoic when greeted. Timid but tolerant; gained confidence and began to interact with the other dogs as time went on. 4/1/2020 WALK Walked hesitantly on leash. Stop and start. Moved forward if given a few seconds. Took treats intermittently; hesitantly walked down the stairs and moved more freely up the stairs and back to his kennel. 4/8/2020 WALK Barking, retreated in kennel, ducked leash; once leashed exited kennel; flattened to ground every few steps as dogs barked/lunged in kennels; outside walked with coaxing, would sit if any pressure applied to leash; gave small tail wags, leaned into petting; more comfortable in play yard, explored with tail wagging; flattened to ground once in building, needed coaxing to return to kennel, stop/go. 4/4/2020 Foster Overnight Likes people, but growls at foster's other dog. Likes being petted, and very sweet. Can't keep him because other dogs in home don't like him.
