About Drako

This is Drako, an almost 4 year old, male-neutered, all black, German Shepherd. He is vaccinated and on flea, tick and hw prevention. He is still in the very beginning of his rehabilitation and won't be available for adoption until he has more training on him. Drako was surrendered due to biting the husband in the family, in the head!! It was a strong correction bite. The husband refused to discipline Drako and Drako then started correcting and controlling the husband. He was excellent for the wife and her daughter because they were both very firm with him and kept consistent boundaries as well as exercised him daily. ** Drako Would be best for a single, Strong, military or police FEMALE ONLY OR a male with behavioral dog experience who is looking for a protector. He absolutely LOVES his children, but wouldn't do well with other children coming and going. Drako needs someone who can be very firm, consistent, fair, exercises alot and can also be a strong disciplinarian. He is Medium energy BUT has stamina for days. He requires heavy exercise daily- biking, runiing, treadmilling, etc OR he is unmanageable. He gets very vocal, unsure and whinny if he doesn't get worked enough daily. He is also much more likely to bite if he isn't given what he needs! Although he is an absolutely beautiful dog, he IS NOT bred well! Due to bad breeding, he is way too strong in some areas and way to weak in others. He needs a lot of confidence building mixed with bringing him down when he gets cocky! He is naturally VERY protective and can be very territorial, so he needs someone who can commit to staying on top of that. New owner Should have experince working with German Shepherdswith behavioral issues!
