About Maximus

Max, a 6yr old aussie malamute mix has been looking for his forever home for the last 2 or so years, and has been in a tense, high stress environment due to his ongoing concerns. He got attacked around 2yrs old at the dog park, which progressed to what we see today - defensive behaviours, some nipping, and he has a history of having bitten at least 3 times. 2 of which were the other family dogs during scuffles. He is an avoidant type but a very motivated, happy type of dog. I truly believe he can be worked with and through, and whoever is able to shelter him I am committed to working him through his issues so that he can enjoy life. He needs a stable environment, or something akin to that, so that I may work with him or alternatively. With my current living conditions, it doesn't allow him - but if there's a slim 1% chance some person has an outside kennel, unused, or is like 'Hey yeah I can foster that dog and you train him for free, sure !'. I am willing to pay for his food, essentially his room and board. He's currently being fostered so we don't fear for Euthanasia at this time. If there's anyone, any resources you know that could help him, please let me know. He is a sweet boy, but I know we can't save them all. This is our hail mary. With my whole heart I believe he can be worked through, even his prey drive. I am willing to have my cat help us through his issues, and I am trained in both aggressive type cases and CPR and First Aid. Safety is my upmost priority.
