About Tippy

Meet Tippy! She is a 5 1/2 year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua Dachshund mix) who weighs 6 pounds. Tippy was found as a stray. We don't know how long she had been on her own but she was very, very thin when she was rescued. Regardless of what happened to her, this tiny little girl is the sweetest most lovable pup that you could ever meet! Tippy is very friendly and never meets a stranger. She loves to snuggle and nestle in your lap. If you don't give her attention she will reach out her paw and touch you gently. She is definitely a lap dog and will sleep near you in bed all night. Tippy is housebroken and will go to the door if she needs to go out. Its possible that in a new environment she may have an accident until she gets used to your schedule and home, but she's a smart little girl and it won't take long for her to adjust. She likes to go out, but has not been tested with a leash and harness since her foster home has a fenced in yard. She gets along well with other small dogs, but has not been around cats. Tippy is so much happier now that she has had surgery to remove a small mass and had a dental. She has recovered well from her surgery and wants to play with her foster mom. Tippy has a grade 5 heart murmur that can be managed with medication. Her new owner will need to make sure she gets the medicine that she will need daily for the rest of her life. A quieter low key home is best for her and for that reason she does not need to be in a home with children. Tippy is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. If you are looking for a lovable lap dog, Tippy is the girl for you!
