About Speckles

Boston Terrier / Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Speckles came from a house where there were 48, yes, 48 dogs and lots of cats. As you can imagine, there's not a lot of time for humans to interact with dogs individually in situations like this but Speckles learned very quickly that he loves being around humans. We have never seen a dog quite like him - such a beautiful brindle and interesting face - and when we looked it up he looks just like a Kai Ken. (This platform doesn't have Kai Ken as an option so we chose Boston Terrier - which would be our second guess.) We could be completely wrong but that's what he looks like! He is right at 20 pounds and maybe three years old. Speckles is great with other dogs, loves the dog park, is housetrained, and loves to snuggle in bed or sleep in a crate. He does great on a leash and will love having people to call his own. If you are interested in meeting and potentially adopting Speckles please read on or go directly to the adoption process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org. Though Speckles loves humans he would be best in a household where any children are 12 or older. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
