CHASE - ID#A641402 - RESCUE ONLY Long Beach Shelter, Long Beach, So Cal http://petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=LONG.A641402 The Long Beach shelter is thankfully giving us a little more time with Chase and trying to work with him (they had previously given a deadline of 4/14). Today, they emailed me this video and said, 'Please see the attached video of Chase from yesterday, he had a really good day. We have not removed him from his kennel yet but we are hopeful that day is in the near future. He still urgently needs rescue placement due to his frustration and need for training. Please keep us posted if you know of any rescues with availability.' I had previously recommended to them to gain his confidence, to try turning away and sitting down, so he was not so reactive. This fortunately worked. On Saturday, they emailed me, 'I did sit with him for approximately 20 minutes with my back turned to him and he was quiet and was lying down next to me.' I have included the shelter correspondence below. This young beautiful German Shepherd/chow mix was kept outside in yard his whole life, he was said to be good with kids, but occasionally nipped to get attention or his way. Can anyone please give him a second chance and provide proper training- and save his life? He is only 2 years old, 60 lbs. and stunning. He needs a very savvy foster and rescue to save his life. He is only 2 years old.
