Shorty Dachshund/Chihuahua Male 2 years 20 lbs. My name is Shorty, and I'm a small, spunky guy with a ton of spirit. I am guaranteed to fall hard for my new people, but you should know that I'll need your support to warm up to new people, places and things. Are you my future family? I feel the happiest snuggling with my family in the comfort of our home. While I absolutely LOVE walks, I'm still learning to be comfortable on leash in meeting new people and dogs. New experiences give me a bit of anxiety and I can be quite reactive when interacting with people and dogs I don't know out and about. Therefore, I'd do best in a home where my person can be patient and understanding with me and where I don't need to interact with a lot of people and dogs when on walks. I would do best in a home where pups like me are the sole recipient of your attention. I'm not the right match for a home with children or cats, but I adore the other pooches in my foster home as long as they are easy going and friendly! I'm intensely motivated by treats and plush toys like any self-respecting pupper. My foster mama said I'm constantly making her laugh with my antics. I'm busy now working on potty training and understanding that my crate is a safe space. I am not super happy being left home alone and will bark and cry a ton when left alone. So I'm not going to be the right fit for an apartment lifestyle and I'd do best in a home where my human is home more often than not. Do you think you could be my security blanket?
