Tears are rolling as I write this post. I have had Gunner since he was approx. 3 months old. He has been around our cats and my grandson's companion dog since day 1. The last 4 months have been a nightmare. He has repeatedly attacked the other dog without rhyme or reason. We have tried everything to no avail. It is apparent that Gunner must go to a home without another dog. Gunner is a part of our family. He deserves to go to a home who will treat him like one of their own. He is an indoor dog using a doggy door to go in and out of as he chooses. He loves sleeping under the covers with his human which I would NOT suggest (if you want to get any sleep). He kennels great if you work. He LOVES the water so if you have a pool or access to river, that's his favorite thing. I have had to stop taking him to the river here due to his aggressiveness towards other dogs. He is very healthy, very happy, very energetic and LOVES attention. I have a non-ambulatory/non-verbal grandson who has autism as well. Gunner is the first to calm him when he is having an episode. Gunner will lay on the floor and play with him as ling as he's allowed lol. He loves children and is only needing supervision due to his size, not behavior towards them. He has never shown aggression towards people, however, he will bark and growl until you acknowledge the person as a friend. Then it's all over and Gunner will attack with kisses and rubs from then on out whenever that person visits. No stranger will ever enter your home or yard without his permission. I need to find this beautiful, sweet dog a loving home quickly. He is approx. 1.5yrs old and weighs 90lbs. He is completely black except for some white on toes. He has the body of a Great Dane ( & still growing) and the head of a Pit. He is extremely strong.
