About Zena

Adoption Fee: $100.
Belgian Malinois
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Pending Adoption... This sweet girl was found abandoned and very malnourished. (She has put on 7 lbs since this photo on arrival) The shelter near where she was found confirmed no microchip, shelter is not taking any more animals due to the covid-19 pandemic. We are fostering her until an appropriate emotional support Family is found. I have vaccinated, dewormed and done extensive ear washings on her. She is flea free. She is on a high calorie diet to gain weight. I will microchip her before releasing to her forever home. Zeena is very friendly and loving, a bit cautious at first. Not aggressive in any way. She attaches easily to adults both male and female. I was told by the original finders she is afraid of cats and young kids, older kids seem fine. Edit: after watching her interact with puppies, dogs and children she does very well, ask for video. We don't have a cat so that is still unknown. She was frightened of our golden retrievers on arrival, but is now comfortably playing, romping, running and napping with them. She will sleep through the night in or out of a crate. We have not had any inside potty accidents to date. She was doing a snivel / cry if we left the room, She has calmed down considerably in a short time once she built trust. She is intelligent, eager to please and pretty passive. She eats well, not food aggressive. She like balls and toys, though she is still learning how to play with them. She had puppies recently, no pups were found when she was rescued. She will need to be spayed immediately. She seeks out love humans can give her. She is a dog that should have stay at home parents, she is not a dog that will be good left alone. Belgian Malinois are fantastic companions, fiercely loyal, high energy dogs that want to be with their humans 24/7. She is pretty calm and gentle for a Belgian Malinois. Only contact if you are familiar and understanding of the breed. The only fee I will ask for in rehoming her is partial fee towards spaying, if I am able to get that done before a family is found. Otherwise a spay contract will be required. We will absorb all other costs related to her health prior to rehoming. Here are a few questions if you are interested in adopting her. Thank you! 1. Adults / kids other pets? 2. Who will be home with the dog? 3. How many hours a day / week would she be left home alone? 4. Have you had a dog before / what kind? 5. Do you own your home / or have permission from a landlord for a dog? 6. Are you willing to have a home inspection? 7. How soon do you feel is appropriate to take a dog to the vet when noticing anything out of the ordinary? 8. Additional information you would like to share to be considered as adoptive dog parents?
