About Tripp

Meet Tripp!! This gorgeous and goofy dog was adopted but came back to us for having to much energy for their lifestyle. He is looking for a new home that can keep up with a fun active dog! Tripp is a 1 1/2 year old, male mix breed. He has a lot of Shiba Inu characteristics and looks but we are unsure of his exact mix. He weighs approx 35- 40 pounds. He is extremely loving and outgoing. He's happy to see all strangers. He's super soft and has one green eye and one brown eye. Tripp is potty trained, crate trained and rides great in the car. He pulls on the leash when he gets excited. He's been quiet and doesn't seem to be a barker. He has a ton of energy and needs a home that can keep up with him. He needs to run and play several times a day. FENCED YARD REQUIRED, he won't be happy without it. He's very puppy-like and still needs to refine his manners. He will take things from tables and counters if not watched. He does jump up on people but is fairly gentle when he does it. Tripp is also still attempting to chew on hands and play bite. It's not aggressive but not a desired behavior. He's doing well with corrections and mostly does it when he's excited and playing. He will need to go to a home with older kids as we think he may be to much for younger kids. Tripp does know how to sit and lay down. He's very treat motivated and will learn quickly with consistency. He takes treats very gently and has not shown any aggression toward humans over food, treats or toys. He's just a big goofball. He LOVES toys. He spends a good portion of his day throwing them up in the air and being perplexed when they 'disappear' behind the couch. Tripp loves other dogs and would benefit from another playful dog in his new family. He is very over eager when greeting a new dog and sometimes other dogs don't like him because of that. He needs a very playful dog to live with as lazy or unplayful dogs will likely be annoyed with him. He whines to get to the other foster dogs in the house. He really likes having a friend. He has not been around cats. **His leg is partially shaved in the photos bc he was recently neutered when they were taken** Vet and home checks required. FENCED YARD REQUIRED. KIDS MUST BE OVER 12. Located in Yorktown VA. (We do not adopt outside of a 3 hour drive radius.
