The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less than ideal conditions so will need to be house and leash trained. Most have never lived in house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Lily and I am a sweet, senior Chihuahua lady who is about 10 years old and I weigh 12 pounds. I was found by a Good Samaritan walking on the railroad tracks and taken to a nearby veterinarian's office. I have had many litters of puppies; my eyes were crusted shut with untreated infection and I don't have much hearing. Even after my eyes were treated, I don't have much sight because it wasn't treated for so long. I got very lucky and the kind veterinarian called some folks that volunteer for a rescue that helps dogs like me so now I am looking for my furever home. I need a quiet home with no children or big dogs that could hurt me. A quiet, mellow, older dog I could cuddle with would be ideal but truthfully, I would rather be in my person's lap, so I do need a full-time parent. I will scratch at the door when I need to go out, or use a pee pad, but I do have little incontinence from having so many babies so I may need to wear a little diaper.
