THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE OFFERED TO GIVE ZOE A NEW HOME. IT HAS BEEN AMAZING HOW MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE HAVE RESPONDED. AT THIS TIME, A NEW HOME HAS BEEN SELECTED. WE ARE ON HOLD DUE TO THE VIRUS, SO IF IT DOESN'T WORK OUT FOR ANY REASON, I WILL CONTACT YOU OR REPOST THIS. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, BELINDA AND JERRY We have 2 wheatens, Zoe 5 and Lucky 3. When Zoe was 2 years old, she was in our front yard with my elderly mom, and a man walking started kicking Zoe repeatedly in her hip. Zoe was a very friendly dog but for some reason the man was afraid of her. Later, he drove by our home in a golf cart and Zoe started associating the man with a golf cart. We put in a fence so she could not get near him, but her anxiety increased. We got Lucky thinking that would help. We moved from our home hoping it would help. We have lived in our new home for 1 1/2 years. From the first day Zoe thought our new neighbor is the person who hurt her because he has a golf cart, although it's not a golf community. He sold the cart in hopes it would help but it has not. Zoe has attacked him twice, biting him. He tried to pet her inside our gate and she bit him. Another time she accidentally got out of the house and attacked him in his yard. He now has a young granddaughter that visits and I am fearful Zoe could hurt her if she is outside with him. We do not let Zoe out of our home but she is very smart and can get by you. Our doctor put Zoe on 3 medications trying to calm her but it hasn't worked. She is afraid of any man with a hat or hoodie. Most of the time she is loving, likes to cuddle, and lay on pillows. She is very very smart. We and our neighbor do not want to put her down, so adoption into a loving home is our only solution. She gets along good with Lucky and other dogs and has never hurt a child but she may do best in a home without small children. She loves my husband and brother, it's just men that remind her of the man who hurt her. Thank you for your consideration. It breaks our heart but we want to do what is best for Zoe.
