About Brenda

Brenda's story is unfortunately a sad one. She was brought to the Hillsborough county pet resource center from an abuse call. A women had called the abuse hotline when she saw Brenda outside tied to a tree with an anal prolapse. She had also been used for breeding. Brenda's condition is caused by having worms. The vet's at the Hillsborough PRC did corrected surgery to fix the prolapse and Brenda is now worm free. Brenda is a pocket pit, she is about 39 pounds. She is up to date on all of her shots and is heart worm negative. Brenda was recently taken to a foster home via the PRC's foster express program. Foster notes: I don't think Brenda had ever been in a car or a house before. But she has adjusted very quickly and is doing great. She let me give her a bath with no problems upon arriving to my house. She has done very well with my dog, a 30 pound Boston terrier mix, but has not been tested with cats or children as I have neither. She walks well on a leash. Brenda has yet to have an accident at my house but I am still giving her treats for going to the bathroom outside to potty train. I am also working on crate training her, that is where she has been sleeping at night and is doing well. Brenda is very food motivated and has learned sit pretty quickly when given treats for doing so. So far she has enjoyed going for walks, but she really LOVES to cuddle and get head scratches. She would make a great couch potato. Brenda would make a great pet and I hope you can provide her with the forever home she deserves after having such a rough start to life.
