About Sterling

STERLING/ Yellow (Almost Cream) Lab Mix. Sterling is 3 and 1/2-year-old, tall, lean, neutered, athletic light yellow (almost cream) lab, who loves to play, cuddle and snuggle. Shots up to date and no health problems. (Surrendering because of displacement/relocation) Sterling has a pleasant, calm personality and is people-oriented. Sterling usually stays close to where we gather. He LOVES his toys and is gentle to take treats and loves floor time; he is very content laying on his bed, your bed, the couch, or anywhere there is sunshine. Sterling knows basic commands and responds well to gentle verbal suggestions. Very smart and trainable - he knows sit, 'paw,' come, and loves to fetch. Belly rubs are a favorite. Things that make him an easy dog... * wonderful at letting us know when he needs to go outside * not a barker or a chewer * gentle and careful not to bump into the furniture or decorations * respectful and only plays with his toys Sterling needs a home with no cats. He has lived with large dogs as well as tiny dogs and seems to do fine with them both. He would be best matched with well adjusted female dogs. He has had little leash training and was kept in a yard. Every time his leash is brought out, however, he runs to the door. He loves to go on walks/hikes, but he is quite the puller if too many distractions. Sterling also enjoys rides in the car. Sterling would do best in a home with a yard or with people who have experience with leash training. If loose, he will roam. Sterling will melt your heart because he is a loyal friend and constant companion.
