About Niko

Posted 12/21/19, and picture updated on 3/6/20. Niko was found near the Tyler, TX airport on 64 W on 10/10/19 running with a Husky, but the Husky could not be caught. No owner has come forward to claim him, so he is available for adoption. His testicles had not dropped yet at 3 months old and 25 pounds when found, so we waited to see if they would drop, and he was finally neutered on 12/2/19 weighing 39.6 pounds. He weighed 56 pounds in March 2020. Niko is estimated to have been born in July 2019. He loves to play with other dogs, is crate trained, has a high pitch bark at times, and can dig under fencing if he wants to. He has not dug out of our perimeter fence, but has dug into one of our dog pen areas to try to get some of the can food that is being fed to a senior dog. He will require a fenced in yard. We are guessing that he is a Husky/Shepherd mix from his fur color and his one Blue eye. He will chew on things, so he should be put in a crate at night, and supervised inside a house with his own chew toys, until he is trained not to chew on other things.
