About Nani

Lab mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

*** ADOPTION PENDING *** Nani is a sweet and loving yellow lab mix who is 1~2 years old. She is currently 55lbs and is still needing to gain a little bit of weight, so should be around 60 lbs. Like her namesake from 'Lilo and Stitch', Nani is beautiful, kind and caring. Found as a stray with her 4 month old puppy Lilo, Nani had also taken another stray pup under her wing. Nani, Lilo and Stitch made a sweet little stray family. The three of them have made their freedom ride to NY and are in foster homes, and Nani is now ready for a life on her own. She is looking for a companion as loving and loyal as she is. Nani loves to be near her people; she likes to be right by your side whether you are indoors relaxing or puttering around the yard. She also makes the perfect walking partner because she walks beautifully on the leash. When she's excited, she can jump up (and is tall, with her long body!) but she is generally pretty laid back. She's been in foster care for a short time, and it is clear she's enjoying relaxing and being looked after for the first time in her life. Although she is a relaxed girl, when she is seen playing with other dogs she showcases how fast and strong she is with her muscular build. She also has a serious interest in squirrels so when one comes nearby, she hops over quickly to try to chase them. After a quick play session, she's happy to lounge around again. She is not a huge fan of dog toys (yet!) and not a heavy chewer. However, she enjoys a nice kong filled with some treats! Her favorite pasttime is being near people and being pet. There is nothing more calming than petting her while she looks up at you with her sweet, soulful eyes. When you stop petting her, she will be happy to provide you a gentle reminder to keep going by raising her paw. Nani is house-broken and enjoys relaxing indoors on her dog bed or in her crate. She enjoys the company of other dogs but would also be quite happy to be the only dog in the home. This sweetheart is looking for a loving forever home. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
