MEET DISCOVERME DOG BABY GIRL! | EMAIL: [email protected] | SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY PLEASE --- Please say hallooo to DiscoverMe Dog number four - the sweetest chonky 8 yr old ever, BABY GIRL from the Carlsbad shelter! We're soooo happy to have this deserving gal in temporary foster care via the DiscoverMe Project! Thank you to her foster fam once again. BABY GIRL'S shelter admission photo will crush your heart but her transformation is already underway and it's what we all need to see right now. She was taken away from her former owner in early March and has been in our temp DMP foster home since Friday, showing us what a wonderful dog she is! This is another one who simply can NOT go back to the shelter, so please share her with your friends so we can find her forever family. As you can see, BG is severely obese at 85 lbs. We're not sure if it's thyroid but we're starting a special diet and exercise plan to see if we can drop some of those extra pounds real quick. Her body has clearly been neglected for a while. Her fur is thin or missing, skin rough and irritated, huge concrete callouses, and her teeth are really worn down. (It's pretty much all cosmetic though, stuff that should improve in a loving home with good nutrition and vet care). BABY has been an exemplary house guest so far. She does great in her crate, doesn't complain about anything, sleeps soundly and snores adorably BOL. She is so appreciative. Her dog skills are a bit rusty but she enjoys the companionship of her two foster siblings and would do fine with a well matched male companion dog. If only she were not so chubby, we can tell she'd really love to romp around and play with our Charlie Boy. We'll get her there, just wait and see! BABY GIRL is available for an adoption fee of $37.50 and is fixed, microchipped, vaccinated and hoping to find an awesome family of her own. While in foster care, we're able to learn more about the dog when in a normal home environment, which doesn't always align with behavior seen in a stressful kennel environment. We share that valuable information with shelter staff and potential adopters in order to aid shelter marketing and adopter selection. Through rigorous marketing and promotion, we ultimately hope not to return the DiscoverMe Dog to the shelter but instead to see that animal safely in the care of a forever family or reputable rescue with a foster care provider.
