About Jasper

Lab / Chesapeake Bay Retriever
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

*** ADOPTION PENDING *** Needs: %BD' Fenced Yard %BD' Canine Buddy %BD' No Children Under 12. How do you feel about love, joy and chocolate? Jasper is a 1-2 year old Chocolate Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix who LOVES everyone- both humans and dogs. This joyful 65lb boy radiates happiness, and has the natural exuberance labs are known for. His amber eyes literally light up and open wider when he sees his people. He is a big ball of fun, and thrives on activity and playtime with the dog pal in his foster home- they tear around the yard together at every chance they get, and still has tons of energy for walks and hikes and playtime inside. He definitely needs a canine playmate in his forever home! Jasper's tail wags in a circle, like a propeller, and he gives tons of kisses and wants to nuzzle up to you 24-7. He is at heart a giant puppy, and is always down for a game of fetch or anything else. He'll also walk up to you when playtime is over and roll over for belly rubs. Jasper is crate and house trained and walks comfortably on a leash. This sweet love bug adores being part of the action, and is working on learning not to jump up on people (he is the definition of enthusiastic!) and redirecting his nibbling to toys not toes. At 65 pounds he can easily tip a little person over, and is making progress learning not to climb and paw for attention, so needs to be in a home without children under 10. Jasper will benefit from some training, but is super smart, eager to learn, and highly food motivated. Goofy and friendly with other dogs, he became instant best friends with the easy-going dog in his foster home. She was thrilled that he brought a hostess gift of a ball, and had some toys to share. Lucky for him, she is happy to share so they play endless games together. This beautiful and charming chocolatey boy is ready to find a forever family of humans and dog! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here:(https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). Please read about the adoption process (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. All fields on the application must be completed in order for our volunteers to process it (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care, so please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested prior to submitting. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health and safety of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
