About Hennessey Ad. Pending

Ah, Miss Hennessey is a smooth shot of sweetness. She came to us with a litter of nine tiny babies and has done an amazing job as a mama. Now it is her time to shine as a dog with no worries but which spot of sun to lie in and where to take a walk with her people. We believe we have her mix pegged at Vizsla and Lab perhaps with a touch of herding breed mixed in there. She's a medium-sized dog for sure at around 43 pounds, and she's only about a year and a half old. This sweet girl was a long-time stray in a neighborhood but folks there made sure she had food and water. When they saw she was pregnant one of them took her in. Miss Hennessey believes people are great BUT it takes a lot for her to be touched as she probably didn't have much human touch for most of her life. She has improved by leaps and bounds while with us but she's had a lot on her mind raising her rambunctious bunch. She still shies away from a hand that lingers too long, and it takes a bit to get her to come when you have a leash. However! Once her leash is on she's absolutely great on lead and walks. She's even great in a crate through the night and in the car as well. Hennessey just needs a patient family that will allow her a smooth transition and help her realize just how amazing life with humans is. Hennessey does well around other dogs (when her pups are not around), and pays no never mind to the resident cat in her foster home. She has been great around children but because she is timid we are asking that her family not have children under the age of ten so she doesn't feel threatened by loud noises and sudden movements. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
