About Vespa

Meet Vespa! Vespa is a 2 year old spayed, fully vaccinated female pup who came over from Lebanon. We do not know when she came over however, we do know that the person ho brought her over no longer wanted her in the home And called animal control to come and retrieve her. We were told by the Harford Humane Society that the family put her in with another resident dog and their was a tussle so they had her removed. Vespa was extremely confused and shut down in the shelter so we were called to intervene and take her in the hopes of helping her to decompress. The humane society said that she was fine being next to other dogs in the kennel as long as they were calm however she was not dog tested. Though Vespa was shut down when we brought her to the farm, she quickly opened up to the females in the home. She took a bit of time with the males but within 10 min she was accepting of love and cuddles. She is extremely sweet with kids as well however we would like to see her go to a home with children 7 and over since her breed is a herding breed. Vespa is very smart and knows sit, down and shake in English which makes us believe she's been here longer than when she was picked up on 2/22. She is protective of her home And her people once she feels comfortable with you. She has low to moderate energy and does well going on trails for walks. She's still learning leash skills and does best in a harness. We don't believe that Vespa would do well with other animals in the home. She has a strong pray drive when we take her on walks so cats would definitely not be best in the home. Vespa would do best with a fenced in yard so she can go outside without being walked.
