About Weller

Redbone Coonhound / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

FOSTER/FOSTER TO ADOPT NEEDED for Weller...Weller is playful, loves and desires companionship with lots of time outdoors. He loves to play with toys and fetch. He loves our children though he is still a little nippy with hands, but has come a long way. He loves to run free and play tag. He knows sit, lay, come (indoors), shake, speak, he is house trained, loves his crate with door open and doesn't mind with door shut but for only a few hours max. He runs and plays hard, but is quite the napper. He does startle sometimes at new noises and new items, but he has really come a long way with that as well. He is a redbone coonhound (possible mix) and has the most precious eyes and merle ears and the tip of his tail bright white to match his chest. He comes with the hound bark which seems to help communicate when he has seen something that he wants to show you and when he needs help getting his toy that has gotten stuck under the couch. Each time he goes outside at night he seems to bark all the creatures away before he potties. His bark is not even bothersome but it is a part of him! He is up to date, fixed and microchipped. I think his ideal environment is a large yard or a house in the woods with freedom to run and roam. He seems very trainable, maybe if coon hunting is still out there he would be trainable. He aims to please his person! He does well with a friend's dog, though he play nips and that dog doesn't back away so we have to limit their fun so no one gets hurt. He seems independent but I also think that is because when he is in our enclosed patio, out back or on the couch for the night he feels safest alone. I have never in my life given up an animal and this is really taking toll on my heart. I want to be sure to support him by making sure his transition is with as few stops as possible and also I would love to supply his new family with food, toys, and possibly thought we could get them a training certificate for agility or even advanced obedience. He eats his meals from feeder toys and this helps him rest better. If you are interested in this handsome boy please please submit an app at www.rescueangelssomd.com. Thank you!
