About Charley

Meet Charley Charley is an adorable tuxedo kitty with the best personality. He, and his brother Bo, were owner surrendered on January 26, 2020 by a wonderful volunteer who had so many rescue kitties that she's saved and thought that Charley would love to live in a home with fewer kitties where he can have a lot more attention. His brother was adopted quickly, but Charley is a bit on the shy side so has not been able to charm himself into a forever home yet. Charley is a sweet, restful cat to have around. He loves climbing and seeing his world from up high. He's charming and his owner described him as a social butterfly. He does great with dogs and cats and has lived with both his whole life. Charley is2 1/2 years old and weighs eight pounds. He is one-of-a-kind. If you are looking for a well-adjusted and super sweet kitty to welcome to your home, come meet Charley. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Our shelter is currently closed to the general public as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. However, for approved adopters we are making appointments to meet and adopt your fur baby.
