About Pihu

Meet Pihu! She is a one-year-old, 20-pound Desi Dog (or street dog) from New Delhi, India. Pihu is an extraordinary little dog. As a tiny puppy living on the street in India, she was hit by a car, and her spine was broken in three places. She was rescued by the wonderful people at Kannan Animal Welfare (KAW), a dog rescue group in New Delhi, who nursed her back to health. One rear leg had to be amputated, and Pihu's other rear leg remains paralyzed. But her disabilities have not stopped her from getting around and living a full life. She is the sweetest, friendliest little girl who just wants to be loved. Now that she has come to the U.S., she is learning to use a wheelchair! Pihu has control of her bowel and bladder, she does great in a crate with no accidents but is still learning to go potty outside. Pihu is a snuggle bug and gets along well with the other dogs in the house. Pihu arrived in the U.S. on March 2. Apply now to adopt this amazing pup!
