About Cooper (Basil)

German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Hi there. My name is Basil, although I've been called Cooper for the past several months. I'm about six months old now, and almost 40 lbs. I am a male shepherd/lab mix. I came into the rescue back in November with my siblings. We didn't have a home before that. My real mom fed us for a while before she left all of us, so a nice man brought us to the shelter and the shelter people made arrangements for us to move to a foster home. I was adopted right away, but it turned out that my family was allergic to me so I'm back at my foster home again. I love it here, but I really want a forever home of my own. My foster mama says that I am the bestest boy. I don't know a lot of tricks, but that's okay because I'm so good! I'm still a pup, but I try real hard. I've never had an accident in my foster home, and I'm crate trained even though I'm also happy just chillin' on a dog bed or blanket. When I went to my first adopter's home, I was taught not to jump up on the furniture, so I'm pretty good at that. And I've never done anything naughty in the house - I don't take anything that doesn't belong to me and even though I like to sniff the people food I haven't so much as licked any of it. I need reminding to be good at walking on a leash - what I really love is to run free. And I usually come running when I'm called. I'll even sit right away if you ask, and I'll wait patiently to see what's going to happen. Especially if you offer me treats - I LOVE treats. I also love people and other animals. My foster mom has LOTS of foster puppies, a pack of big dogs and a couple of goats. And I get along with everyone. I'm so happy and I have so much energy that I often forget how big I am and how rough I can be. So I've heard my mom say that I might be 'too much' for a nervous dog or for an adult dog who doesn't like active puppies. But I don't know why everyone wouldn't love me. I play hard and I love hard. Even though I hesitate because I'm not supposed to be on furniture, I could easily be a lap dog - I love attention from my humans. And I love to sit in my foster dad's chair. Okay, he sits in the chair and I sit on his lap. It's perfect. My mom says that I am up to date on all vaccinations, and I've been neutered and have a microchip, whatever all of that means. All I know is that I'm ready to go! I'm at my foster's home in Eatonton, so you may have to drive a bit to meet me. But I'm such a good boy - I'm worth it!
