Willoughby (fka Goldie) first arrived to us as a stray in early February. She was adopted then unfortunately returned later in the month following three separate bite incidents with the adopter's father. The first occurred when introducing Willoughby to the father. He went to pet her and she jumped up biting his upper arm, and held on, then when pulled her off of him, Willoughby again lunged forward biting him on his forearm again. The third bite occurred the next day when the father was sitting on the couch reading and the adopter was walking Willoughby by to go outside on leash and she lunged forward to bite him but caught his pants instead. The first bite resulted in three punctures, the second bite was two punctures. Based on these circumstances, we feel Willoughby would be best suited for placement with a New Hope partner in an adult-only home. Willoughby has also been uncomfortable with other dogs at the shelter so a single-pet home is the current recommendation. Willoughby is a young girl, described as having a high level of activity, and might do best with an experienced and active family who can provide her with ample time and structure.
