About Jack Daniels

Rescue was contacted by a pet owner to help place Jack as the pet owner has had serious health issues involving seizures and needs to find a safe home for him. Here is what she says about this lab mix: Jack is a dream to have. His real name is Jack Daniels. He is allergic to corn and cheese products. He gets 1 can chunky food mixed with a grain and dairy free food if he needs medication its best to put in his food cause he can spit a pill out. He is so loving goofy and caring. He loves to have back scratches and rub downs. He will lay on his back to get his nails clipped and knows basic commands. His crate comes with a theraputic cushin and he like the crate covered so during storms he feels secure and safe. I do allow him on furniture but if told no he will adjust. His favorite toy that he hasnt destroyed is his kong stick. I wouldnt advise having breakables down low because he does throw it sometimes playing. He will do a cute twistie dance when being silly and the boxer stomp. If he wants something and is told no if he sneezes that means he is saying yes. He is house broke and has doggie door with fenced yard for easy access. I never lock him in his crate unless he is needing a 5 min time out. Yes he is just like a toddler. The only issues I have with him is he hates bathing but is not mean he just doesnt want it. He is very strong and doesnt realize his own strength so hes told not to jump on people and when horsing around he can cause scratches. Children under age 8 should be supervised with him again he is strong and doesnt realize it. He should also be told to settledown around elderly he loves them but he could hurt them. He has never ever bitten anyone but he is a dog. If he feels something is wrong with someone he will go to them day or night and touch them to alert. Jack needs a fenced yard with at least a 5 foot fence but he has never attempted to go over it. Must be in cats free home. He is microchipped so info will need changing and up to date on all shots.
