About Sadie

Sadie desperately needs an adopter or foster by Tuesday March 24, 2020. She was abandoned at a Petco store when she was about a year old and left with a rescue that is focused on cats. She has been spayed and is up to date on all vaccinations and microchipped. Forgotten Angels (the rescue who has cared for her to date) also stated that they have a trainer committed to helping her adjust to her new home and work on long term training with her adopter at no cost. After she was first found, she spent approximately 4 months with a trainign and boarding program, but it does not sound as if she made as much progress as was hoped. She has a high prey drive so she would not do well with cats or small dogs. Forgotten Angels has received varying reports on how her behaviors have progressed, some which make it sound as though she might be okay with large dogs and others which say she is not. Her ideal situation would be a home with no other pets that is committed to working on long term training with her, and attempting the slow controlled introduction of newdogs in the future to see how she does if that is a route the adopters want to go. Having been stuck in a boarding environment, it sounds as though Sadie has not been able to get the exercise she desperatly needs at this age which is impacting a lot of her behaviors. She is not doing will in the boarding facility and if she were to end up in county we fear that she would fail some of her evaluations (as she is already stressed from the last f months) and end up on the e-list. She is house-trained, crate-trained and knows basic commands. Recommend no children under 10 due to energy level and potential for accidental injury.
