About Dolce

Dolce is older than some of our babies available for adoption, but she is still playful and just a little feisty! She lives with two other Rotties (male and female) as well as with cats that come and go and teenagers. When Dolce first came to SSRR, she was rather timid, unsure and a little grumpy even. She went through having a home to being dumped at the shelter by her 'owner', shelter life is scary enough, then some stranger comes and gets her--yeah, I would be very leary of strangers and grumpy too. Even grumpy, you could tell she is a sweetie and she wants to trust you, she just isn't sure. Fast forward not even two weeks later and you see a different girl. Dolce wants to be by you. She wants to be in your lap, by your side ready to go for walks/rides. She isn't a pup though and enjoys a little nap afterwards. She also loves her rubs. At first she wasn't too sure about this bath thing, but then she realized there were rubs involved and now she randomly tries to get in the tub. Dolce loves to give kisses and just as many as you will let her give you! She's been good with other animals she meets. It's people that have to work for her trust and understandably so. When people approach her and do so correctly, she is cautious, but good. When strangers just reach out to try to touch her, she grumbles. She will let you know what she likes and doesn't - a little grumble here, lots of kisses there...she is a one of a kind girl. Dolce is such a sweet girl who needs to live with kinds 12 and older. She is uncomfortable around younger children. She has all of the other typical Rottie traits - she leans, she gets a little stubborn and is very smart and affectionate. Dolce needs an experienced owner/handler. If not handled correctly, she could misinterpret something and feel the need to defend herself.
