About Waylon

Adoption Fee: $180
Boxer / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Waylon This beautiful boy is full of love and is just coming into his own. We rescued Waylon from a high-kill shelter, where Waylon found himself AFTER being pulled from a cruelty situation. Things looked very bleak for Waylon'|BUT not anymore. Waylon is safe. Waylon arrived at our shelter on February 29, 2020. Waylon is thought to be a one year old Boxer/Lab mix. He weighs 37.5 lbs. He has a black and white coat and - these days - it looks as if he's smiling'| a lot! He's absolutely amazing. When he first arrived he was shut down and so so scared. But one of our incredible volunteers took Waylon under her wing and in a short amount of time, he's blossomed! Waylon is such a love bug now. He loves being with people. He loves attention and likes to climb into your lap for some love and assurance. Waylon bonds quickly with those he trusts and seeks them out for comfort. For one so abused, Waylon is quick to forgive and get on with living life. Our volunteers say Waylon is one of the smartest dogs they have worked with. In about 30 minutes he learned how to walk on a leash, he learned his new name, and he learned to sit, stay and come - incredible for a dog that was abused and shutdown for so long. Waylon has good energy and will make a terrific hiking or running partner. We think he'll do well with other dogs given he arrived with a companion. He doesn't seem to mind the office cats. He's interested, but not overly so. It's almost as if he's not seen a cat up close and is simply curious. Waylon is a people's dog and we expect that he'd do well with kids, as long as they are taught to respect him. Waylon has become a shelter favorite and is being showered with love and kindness. If you are looking to welcome a young, beautiful doggo to your family, come meet Waylon. We're glad he's safe with us, but we sure would love for Waylon to have a second chance at a happy life. We're positive that whoever is lucky enough to adopt him will be rewarded with a lifetime of love, loyalty and joy.
