About Sandy

STF (single, tan female) looking for love and cuddles and kisses! It's Valentine's Day and I want to be your forever Valentine. I like long walks, a fine meal, and I also love to run and play. Cuddling is also on my list of favorite things. If you would like to be my Valentine, you can adopt me from Sophia's Grace Foundation! Sandy is an approximately two-year-old Chiweenie. She is spayed and UTD on vaccines. She was surrendered in Alabama and came to us by way of a friend down south. Unfortunately, her previous owners did not keep Sandy on preventive, and she tested positive for heartworms. She has received a six-month ProHeart injection and a prescription for doxycycline to combat the worms, and will need to be rechecked in 6 months and may need a subsequent injection until she tests negative. Our vet recommended this treatment method because of Sandy's high energy level as this does not require her to be kept calm and on restricted activity during her treatment. It is also not as likely to make her sick and she will make a full recovery! With this treatment she is also able to go to her forever home sooner so she can begin to make herself right at home! Sandy will need reinforcement of a consistent house-training routine to continue the progress she has made in her foster home. She is crate trained and she has been working on leash manners as well. Sandy is good with other dogs and would do fine with considerate children. A fenced yard is required due to her high energy level. She is fostered in Stony Creek, VA, Sussex County.
