About Spike

Spike is a 6 1/2 year old chihuahua mix who is looking for just the right home to call his own forever! Spike is a ladies man who prefers the women and may like the ladies of the house better than any of the boys. Spike will need an adult only home with no children under 18 due to a bite incident from many years ago, but sadly those things don't fall off his record. Spike is great with other dogs, but would like to meet any dogs in the home before going home. He does not like to share laps or his people. Spike would most likely prefer to be the only canine in the home. Spike is house broken, good on a leash and rides well in the car. He is a smart bilingual boy who knows and understands Spanish. Spike loves walks with his people and will make a great companion, he just needs a home that is patient and will learn what he likes. Spike weighs 11 pounds full grown. Spike recently had a normal vet exam, though they discovered he has mild left-sided cardiomegaly with enlargement of the left atrium. He has been prescribed Vetmedin and it is recommended he receive annual check ups to monitor his overall health and heart health. No matter what tough situations this boy is put in he still comes bouncing back. Spike is still loving life and shows no slowing down any time soon! He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, vet checked and microchipped. His adoption fee is $120 and includes 30 days of complementary pet insurance and a free vet visit.
